“When we lose the right to be different, we lose the privilege of being free”

I want to begin Alfredo and Valerio’s story with this very sentence, which I read on a plaque at the Town Hall of Bagnolo.

There are weddings that we photograph while trying to observe everything quietly and discreetly, and others that inevitably draw us in on a deeper level. This was one of those days.

Alfredo and Valerio celebrated their civil union in Bagnolo Piemonte, surrounded by the people they love, before continuing the day in the beautiful setting of Castello di Bagnolo.

It is difficult to describe in just a few words the atmosphere we experienced. More than anything, there was a strong sense of freedom: the freedom to live their wedding without worrying about conventions, expectations, or about what people usually think “should” be done.

When a day truly reflects the people who are living it, every choice takes on a different meaning. The venue, the outfits, the styling and all the details become part of the story, but what remains above all are the looks, the embraces, the people and the emotions shared together.

For Alfredo and Valerio, Castello di Bagnolo became the place where all of this came together. A wedding venue in Piedmont surrounded by nature, creating an intimate and authentic atmosphere around their celebration.

I came home deeply moved and grateful to have had the opportunity to tell their story through my photographs. Because beyond every definition, what we witnessed was something incredibly simple and universal: a family, the people who are part of it, and two people who chose to share their lives.
